The Long Island Stingrays hockey club is an independent hockey club established in November of 2009.
The Stingrays were founded by Brentwood, NY native, Marc Harris, the Stingrays’ player/coach. His professional playing experience includes time in Finland, Canada’s LNAH and the North Eastern Hockey League
In 2009, the Stingrays played several games against the New York Aviators at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, NY. Former NHL player Beniot Houge was featured in the lineup for the Stingrays, as well as many other players with experience from the ECHL, SPHL, CHL, UHL, IHL, AAHL and EPHL.
In October of 2010, The Long Island Stingrays open the USA Hockey Senior Elite Season in Wissahoicken, Pennsylvania.
